Visit our Tullahoma Animal Shelter Adoption Center

Our partnership with the Tullahoma Animal Shelter allows us to provide more adoption options for cats in our care.

Old Scratch Rescue, a cat rescue organization based in Tullahoma, has joined forces with the Tullahoma Animal Shelter to make it easier for people to find and adopt local cats in need of a loving home. Our volunteers at Old Scratch Rescue are dedicated to providing quality rescue services for cats in the Tullahoma area, and we are proud to work with the animal shelter to help more cats find their forever homes.

At our adoption center, you will find a warm and welcoming environment where you can get to know the cats that are available for adoption. Schedule some time with a volunteer to answer any questions you may have and to provide information about each cat’s personality and needs. We believe that finding the right match between a cat and its new family is key to a successful adoption, and we take the time to get to know each of our cats and their individual needs.

In addition to viewing our adoptable cats, we welcome visitors to drop off donations of food and litter to help support our rescue efforts. These donations are always appreciated and play a vital role in our ability to care for the cats in our adoption center.

If you are interested in adopting one of our cats, we encourage you to come visit our center and complete the adoption process. You can start your application online by clicking here. Our adoption process is designed to be simple and straightforward, and we are here to guide you every step of the way. Whether you are a first-time cat owner or an experienced cat parent, we are confident that you will find the perfect feline companion at Old Scratch Rescue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this mean the Tullahoma Animal Shelter houses cats or takes surrendered cats?
No. The Shelter is not involved in the care of the cats on display. The Shelter does not accept cats on the Rescue’s behalf. Any surrender must be done through the rescue and not on site at the Tullahoma Animal Shelter. Any cats kept in the catio of the Rescue are up to date on vaccinations and altered.
Can I walk in and adopt a cat?

No. You must get in contact with us and complete an adoption application first. Please carefully review our adoptions requirements before submitting an application. We will contact you to approve or deny the application. Please do not contact the Tullahoma Animal Shelter about adopting a cat, they have been very gracious in allowing us to offer our adoptable cats at their location but are not there to answer questions relevant to our rescue.

What is the adoption fee?
Our adoption fee is a flat $75 for all cats. Cats are altered and up-to-date on vaccinations. We plan to microchip cats going forward, but none of our current adoptable animals are microchipped.
Can I donate to Old Scratch at Tullahoma Animal Shelter?
Yes. You may bring donations of food, litter, and toys to the drop off area at the shelter. The Rescue will also have a donation box for monetary donations. Donations must be cash or check and checks must be made out to Old Scratch Rescue. The Tullahoma Animal Shelter will not have access to the rescue’s lockbox. Shelter employees are also unable to take monetary donations on behalf of the rescue.
